There are different types of lenses available in the market, which one is the best?
There are three types of spectacles that are used to work at different distances:

  • Bifocal

  • Trifocal

  • Progressive or multi-focal

The image below shows the bifocal lenses. These are the lenses that have two parts, one part is used for normal activities while the other part is used for near work. Many people like these lenses, although many others are not satisfied with them.

The image below shows a trifocal spectacle. These are lenses that have three parts. One part is used for performing normal activities. The other part is used for working on a computer or similar medium distance work. With the third part near work is done. Most people do not like these lenses because they are very difficult to use and require a lot of practice to become comfortable

Progressive glasses of spectacles

These are lenses have many parts. The top part is used for general activities. The middle part is used for computer work or similar distance work. The lowest part is for near work. In this type of lenses, the number changes gradually and different numbers become available for viewing at different distances. There are some areas on either side of thecenter that have no numbers. These parts cause a nuisance to most people.

The image below shows the distribution of the different parts of the progressive lens

The pictures below show what the progressive lenses look like or how the different parts of them work.

Does weakness’ of vision occurs in children due to study? https://engdrasif.trangolabs.com/does-weakness-of-vision-occurs-in-children-due-to-study/ https://engdrasif.trangolabs.com/does-weakness-of-vision-occurs-in-children-due-to-study/#respond Wed, 06 Oct 2021 07:18:56 +0000 https://www.drasifkhokhar.com/?p=4033

The general idea is that when the burden of reading increases, the vision begins to weaken. Is this correct? Is reading harmful to children’s eyes? Many children are very young when they are diagnosed for refractive error. At what age is the risk of poor eyesight higher?

When will the first manifestation of visual impairment occur? It varies from person to person. However, since children have two stages of life in which their bodies begin to grow rapidly; One is 10 to 12 years old and the other is 16 to 18 years old. Since children’s visual impairment is closely related to eye growth, the eye grows as fast as the rest of the body in those days. It is only when there is disproportionate growth which results into the focus problems for the first time and the symptoms begin to develop. Most of the time the number of spectacles increases. But many children also start to improve and the number of glasses starts to decrease automatically.

The fact is that reading does not weaken the eyesight, but it does show the weakness of the eyesight of the children who are reading, because when he reads, the symptoms force the parents to check the child. Children who do not study also have poor eyesight but do not develop symptoms. However, modern research is confirming that there are certain methods of reading that can cause visual impairment.

  • The most important of these is the extensive use of computers.
  • In the same way, children who keep their eyes focused on close work for long periods of time eg during hifz e Quran, are more likely to have poor eyesight.
  • Children who watch cartoons in front of the TV or with smartphones for hours are also at increased risk of losing their eyesight.

Therefore, it is not possible to say at what age a child is most at risk of impaired vision. It’s a matter of luck. That’s why, where possible, children’s eyesight should be checked even without symptoms. The eyesight is weakens earlier, the symptoms appear much later. And some conditions like amblyopia, squint can be prevented by proper managementof the refractive error.

When it becomes essential for a child to wear glasses? https://engdrasif.trangolabs.com/when-it-becomes-essential-for-a-child-to-wear-glasses/ https://engdrasif.trangolabs.com/when-it-becomes-essential-for-a-child-to-wear-glasses/#respond Wed, 06 Oct 2021 07:15:46 +0000 https://www.drasifkhokhar.com/?p=4031

What precautions should be taken during their study for prevention of their eyesight?

In fact, the only precautionary measures can be taken to prevent visual impairment. Protect children from situations that increase their risk of visual impairment, such as playing computer games, watching cartoons. Screen time must be in balanced way. And when children do these things, it should be strictly managed that they do these things at intervals. This time should not be without appropriate intervals or should not be too long.

More importantly, when it is discovered that a child has poor eyesight, then the use of spectacles should not be neglected so as to reduce the symptoms of further visual impairment, headaches and lack of concentration, and diseases such as squint and amblyopia. These problems also interfere the child’s normal graowth and mental health.

If our child starts wearing glasses all the time, then child’s vision will become even weaker. Isn’t it better for the child to use it only while studying, for example, while reading?

It is a common misconception that regular use of spectacles further weakens the eyesight and eyesight weakens even rapidly. The second misconception is that the spectacles should be used either for near work or for far sighting but never always.

It is a fact is that the use of spectacles does not eliminate or increase the refractive error. Spectacles only alleviate symptoms and play arole in prevention.

It is a fact is that people with mild visual impairments can see even without spectacles by focusing subconsciously, although it hurts them. When the eyes become normal with the use of spectacles, the pain is cured. But as now the eyes can’t easily focus without glasses, which makes them think that their eyesight has become weaker than before.

The second important thing is that children’s glasses must be worn at all times, whether they are myopic or hypermetropic. Children’s glasses are not just for distance or just for near use. If not used all the time, the eyes do not get the desired rest, which does not bring the desired benefits.

Our child can read even without glasses. Why should we put a child in trouble with glasses?

As stated above, in the case of mild myopia, mild hypermetropia, and and mild astigmatism, as most of the visual activities can be carried out so the deception develops as if glasses are not neede. The children and parents are not convinced that glasses are necessary for them. It must be kept in mind that

  • First of all, if you don’t use glasses, the problems won’t go away.
  • Second, spectacles are recommended for prevention of some of dangerous problems. If the glasses are not used regularly, it will be impossible to prevent from those problems.

Isn’t it a fact that nowadays the eyesight of children has becoming weak? Before, so many children did not have eyesight problems!

In fact, the rate of visual impairment in children has not increased, but the awareness of people about eye diseases has increased. In addition, the education ratio in children has increased, which has improved the ratio of children going for vision analysis. In the past, countless children were unaware that they had poor eyesight.

What harm will occur if I don’t use glasses? https://engdrasif.trangolabs.com/what-harm-will-occur-if-i-dont-use-glasses/ https://engdrasif.trangolabs.com/what-harm-will-occur-if-i-dont-use-glasses/#respond Wed, 06 Oct 2021 07:13:01 +0000 https://www.drasifkhokhar.com/?p=4029

What are the problems that has to face a person who doesn’t not use glasses regularly?

There are many problems with not using spectacles regularly which can be easily overcome with the right use of spectacles. Some of the issues are listed below:

  • Blurred vision while watching TV, driving, or reading; And ggod visual performance is not possible without a clear vision, so the eyes have to concentrate and focus. This makes the eyes feel heavy, tired, red.
  • Children’s reading and other performance are affected.
  • Psychological problems arise.
  • Headaches that are sometimes so severe in children that they are accompanied by vomiting.
  • Work performance is affected. A lot of people give up on things that need to be looked at and say, “We’re just getting old”.
  • If a child’s vision in one eye is much weaker than the other, the development of the weaker eye will be impaired. Because the brain cannot justify the information received from that eye and eventually the development of that part of the brain also becomes impaired, this condition is called Amblyopia. If this problem is detected at an early age, it is almost 100% curable, but later it becomes impossible to cure. And this eye becomes permanently blind. Then no medicine or operation can cure it. Twelve years of age used to be the limit, but now there is a lot of disagreement. Many research papers set a limit of eight or nine years.
  • In many children, squint is caused by poor eyesight. The eye that has this defect becomes squinty in many people.

When I should use glasses? https://engdrasif.trangolabs.com/when-i-should-use-glasses/ https://engdrasif.trangolabs.com/when-i-should-use-glasses/#respond Wed, 06 Oct 2021 07:10:46 +0000 https://www.drasifkhokhar.com/?p=4027

When to wear glasses? during near work or in far vision?

This is a big common misconception; people think that spectacles are for either far distance work or for near work. In fact, majority of patients should wear glasses all the time. If not used in this way, the glasses are practically useless. Especially before the age of 40, it is important for everyone to wear glasses at all times to avoid the burden on the eyes. So it should be remembered that

  • Any number (whether positive, negative, or cylinder) before the age of forty-four must be used at all times.
  • After the age of forty-four, the distance and near numbers become different, then it may be necessary only for distance or only for near.

If separate numbers for distance and near are suggested, should the near and far lenses be combined together or separately?

Deciding this is usually not that easy. This is because the decision can only be made by looking at different factors. Some of which are as follows:

  • Older people don’t usually need too much work. And their lives are not very busy either, then usually their spectacle numbers are often large so they also prefer separate spectacles and doctors also encourage this.
  • The needs of the less educated are usually such that they too often prefer to wear separate glasses.
  • Even for people who spend most of their time working nearby, bifocal glasses are not very comfortable. They prefer to wear separate glasses.
  • People with negative number lenses usually do not feel the need for glasses in close work so they also prefer to make separate glasses. People who like positive number glasses find it easier to make glasses together if their number is not too high. If the number of spectacles is high enough, then only separate spectacles are better.
  • Educated people who often have to be busy on the computer, or for people who are to work power point presentations, progressive lenses are the best.

Why vision becomes week? https://engdrasif.trangolabs.com/why-vision-becomes-week/ https://engdrasif.trangolabs.com/why-vision-becomes-week/#respond Tue, 05 Oct 2021 08:08:46 +0000 https://www.drasifkhokhar.com/?p=4008

There are various causes of visual impairment such as big eye, injury, diabetes mellitus, etc

  • Main reason for the weakness of most people before the age of 40 is the diversity in the structure of the eye.
  • If the focus is a little worse, the brain will be able to focus more by making changes to the eye’s focusing system. But in this situation, as the muscles and nerves are being stressed on the subconscious level, there is pressure on the eyes, the heaviness of headache starts, the person gets tired quickly.

When will the first manifestation of visual impairment occur?

  • It varies from person to person. However, since children have two stages of life in which their bodies begin to grow rapidly; One is 10 to 12 years old and the other is 16 to 18 years old. Since children’s visual impairment is closely related to eye growth, the eye grows as fast as the rest of the body in those days. It is only when there is disproportionate growth that the focus begins to deteriorate for the first time and the symptoms begin to develop. The change begins. Most of the time the number of spectacles increases but many children also start to decrease automatically.
  • The fact is that the eyesight does weak due to reading work, but it does affect the children who are indulged in excessive reading. When a child persistently is busy in reading, the symptoms force the parents to go to doctor. Children who do not study also have poor eyesight but do not develop symptoms.
  • However, modern research is confirming that there are certain methods of reading that can cause visual impairment.
  • The most important of these is the extensive use of computers.
    • In the same way, children who keep their eyes closed for long periods of time are more likely to have poor eyesight.
    • Children who watch cartoons in front of the TV on mobile phone for hours, also are at increased risk of losing their eyesight.
  • There are some babies whose eyesight becomes very weak at birth or becomes very weak in the early days. Spectacles are essential to prevent such children from becoming blind. As growth is dependent on proepr visual activity otherwise hypoplasia and amblyopia may result.
  • Therefore, it is not possible to say at what age a child is most vulnerable impaired vision. It’s a matter of luck. That’s why, where possible, children’s eyesight should be examined even without symptoms.
  • The eyesight is weak at first, the symptoms appear much later.
  • Some conditions like amblyopia, squinting can be prevented.

These are those patients who wear glasses with plus cylinder numbers having specific angles. This type of defect may not be very high but creates much discomfort and headache. These glasses may be plus number or may be minus number or even mixed. Typically they are always trying to see without glasses and squeezing their eyes

These patients naturally have an eye defect that develops during the period from childhood to adulthood. Actually the curvature of their cornea is not symmetrical in vertical and horizontal zones. This has been explained in the following pictures

How astigmatic patients looks without glasses and what is the difference when they see through their glasses. This can be visualized by looking at these pictures

These are those patients who wear glasses with plus numbers. Some of them have lenses with very high numbers as seen in the pictures below

The eyes of the person wearing such type of glasses appear slightly bigger

These patients naturally have an eye defect that develops during the period from childhood to adulthood. Actually the length their eyeball is smaller than normal as seen in the picture below

See in this picture that the focusing system of the eye tries to make the image of the tree on the retina but cannot and the image either does not form at all or is very much blurred because the retina is far nearer to its actual place

How a hypermetropic patients looks without glasses and what is the difference when they see through their glasses. This can be visualized by looking at these pictures

What is the reason of weakness of vision? Why people wear different types of glasses? https://engdrasif.trangolabs.com/what-are-types-of-refractive-errors/ https://engdrasif.trangolabs.com/what-are-types-of-refractive-errors/#respond Sun, 26 Sep 2021 15:47:29 +0000 https://www.drasifkhokhar.com/?p=3496

You must have seen different people wearing different types of glasses. Some have difficulty in near work and some have difficuly in far vision. This is due to the types of defects which are different in different people. Mostly the reason is variation in growth of eyeball.

Some people’s eyeballs are smaller than normal they are called hypermetropia. Some people’s eyeballs are larger than normal they are called myopic. Some people’s corneal surface is not equal in different meridians they are called astigmatic.

Hypermetropic people wear plus number glasses, myopic people wear minus number glasses, and astigmatic people wear cylinder number glasses.
